2010 Bible Reading Guide

EVERY CHRISTIAN NEEDS TO READ THE BIBLE IN A SYSTEMATIC MANNER. Why? Because if one has no plan for reading through the scriptures a couple of things are likely. First, without a plan that covers all the Bible, some more difficult portions of scripture are likely to be skipped. Second, without a plan, regular Bible reading is likely to be neglected altogether. This is why we at Grace Bible Church provide a weekly reading plan for our congregation.

While this plan does not take one through the whole Bible in a year, or even in two years, those who are faithful will read through the whole Bible in four years (the OT history and prophetic books once, Psalms and the Gospels three times, the Christmas and Easter Stories four times and Proverbs seven times). Anyone can keep up with this comfortable pace.

This year we will read the major prophets (Isaiah-Daniel), all four Gospels, Psalms, and Proverbs twice. In addition, the Sunday bulletin each week will give whatever passage Pastor Hale will preach on the following Sunday, so everyone can read ahead to be prepared to get the most out of the preaching. Please commit yourself to reading with the body. You will grow and we will grow together.
